ALDI 101

Shopping at ALDI - What to Know

1.  You will save money! Aldi's prices a typically lower than even the sale prices of brand names at other stores.

2. Always bring a quarter. You need one to get a cart. This helps keep prices low since Aldi doesn't have to pay someone to round up carts from the parking lot.

3. Bring your own bags or be prepared to buy them. You can also help the employees by using the leftover stocking boxes.

4. Learn the cart switch at checkout. You unload your cart onto the belt while the checker scans and drops your items into the cart that was left by the person in front of you. This can be a little challenging with small children, but with a little practice you can do it!

5. Do not use credit cards. Aldi only takes cash, debit, and EBT. They accept credit cards now!

6. Try new things. Aldi carries mainly house brands, so be willing to try another brand before you walk in the door.

7. You won't find as much variety as a typical grocery store. Aldi focuses on only the highest volume items in a typical grocery store. Build your menu from our recipes and it won't be a problem.

8. Know the "Double Guarantee." If you are unsatisfied with a product, they will refund your money AND replace the product.

9. Shop at "normal" times. ALDI is not open super late or early. In NE Kansas they are open Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 am. -7 p.m.

  2. I have to remind myself of the guarantee. I got a bag of plums and they were sour and tasteless...but I just tossed them out of habit. :) I have found that their house brand is very similar in quality to brand names I've bought with several products, but at half the price. Win.
